The Phoenix mobile was released on April 30th, 2008.  Originally released on Softnyx's Gunbound International Service (GBWC), we can only guess however that it will eventually make its way across all the other Gunbound servers also.

This mobile (or any new mobile) was long awaited for some and many began to lose hope that they will actually make it.

The original announcement was back in 2005:

Apparently near future meant almost 3 years later, but that is Softnyx.

No name was given to it, but it soon acquired the nickname "Raven".

Also fueled by a screenshot that was photoshoped not long after... Many rumors became of its existence over the next few years. (That it was formerly in Gunbound long ago and then taken out, That it was available in another Gunbound server, etc.)

Softnyx put an end to many rumors after releasing new information about it's soon arrival and even gave it an official name "Phoenix".

Some people were baffled by the name, but if your an avatar collector or just familiar with Gunbound you will know of Softnyx's fetish for phoenixes.

Not long after the new announcement, users whom frequent the Screenshot board got a sneak peak of the new mobile in action.  A few pics were posted by a GM, the mobile was shown using the Boomer Mobile's Shots (for testing).

Barely a month after the new announcement, users got the chance to play the mobile for themselves.  After 3 years of mystery this mobile was finally here.

Some like it, some don't, like anything new there will always be compliments and always be complaints.
